2009 June 16
CDAS MONTHLY NOTICE – 16th June, 2009
Monthly Meeting
Date: Tuesday 16th June 2009
Time: Meeting room doors open for members at 7:50pm for an 8pm sharp start
Place: The Harmonie German Club - 49 Jerrabomberra Avenue, Narrabundah
First of all sorry for the late notice I have been away and we have had some issues securing a speaker. This month I am going to try and defuse some of the mysterys around keeping tropheus.
Last month we showed the "Fish From Burundi To Your Home" Although interesting, it probably ran a little long but the amplified speakers worked a treat (funny that :-)).
The normal auction and raffle will take place again this month, so if you have excess healthy fish or a surplus of plants here is your opportunity to pass them on to other enthusiasts. We are also currently selling tickets for mega raffle. The major prize will be a choice of canister filter (Donated by AoA) or fluid bed filter (kindly donated by Redtree) along with a pool of prizes . The tickets will be $2 each and we will run it over a couple months until we sell enough tickets.
In the past you had to be present on the night for major prize but this time we are going to notify the winner and they one month to collect the prize before we redraw. However, all the minor prizes will go on the night so it is a good thing to continue to show at the meetings. It will be drawn either this month or at the lastest next month thanks to the number of tickets we sold last month.
I would like to iterate that if you have any suggestions about what you would like to see the club do, how you would like to see the meetings structured etc, or even fish to be added to the conservation list, PLEASE approach one of the committee members and tell us. There are only 5 of us running the show so if you don't tell us what you want then we have to decide for you.
So with all these benefits for members, why wouldnt you want to be a member? So we can still offer member services like the trade table, library books purchases, magazine subscriptions and conservation program, please renew your membership or try to encourage your friends to join.
